Old Farm Wood Kitchen Island

Old wood from an old house we tore down 18 years ago.

My cute carpenter cutting down the wood for the top of the island.

Lots of sanding to be done to get it ready for the top of the island.

Daddy's little helper-it's a family project.

You must drive the nail heads in so you don't see them.

Glued and nailed for extra strength.

This is a Kreg jig-the coolest tool ever-I can even use it!

It makes a special hole for the screws so you don't see them from the sides or the top.

The top boards are braced together tight so we can put the screws in tight.

Mel has it braced so he can screw all the boards together.
Starting to put the legs on- old pieces of wood used.

Done-it took us about 2 hours one afternoon. Super fun and easy!
This was my second how to project with my husband. I'm
learning my way around the power tools. I love building.

Ready for some Christmas baking!
