CAMPFIRE BIRTHDAY PARTY

Turning ONE is a special time for the birthday child but especially for the parents. They get to celebrate making it through the first year! Today, I am sharing the cutest little "campfire" party. My friend, Tari, is so creative and to celebrate her son's first birthday she planned a "campfire party". Her hobby is party planning and she has such talent for it.  Tari is also an amazing cook-baking is her specialty! So, when we were invited to her son's first birthday party-YES, we'll be there (cupcakes) and of course to love on the birthday boy!

We were treated to two kinds of cupcakes. S'mores cupcake-chocolate with cream filling, graham cracker crust and marshmallow topping. Also, a yellow almond flavored cake with white icing and berries. These are her signature cupcakes-everything was made from scratch!

The fireplace was all decked out with the s'mores! Large marshmallows, chocolates and graham crackers were calling my name!!

We enjoyed a feast of baked beans, mac and cheese, hot dogs and yummy cornbreads!

As a party favor, she had a table set with all the fixings for trail mix-everyone got to fill a jar with nuts, dried fruits, chocolate pieces, and shaved coconut.

She made a beautiful birthday garland that was so fitting to the theme of the party. She pulled pine cones right off the trees and dried them.

Heres' how to dry pine cones:

Line a pan with tin foil to catch any sap that bakes off- rinse pine cones to remove any critters- place on foiled wrapped tray and bake at 300 degrees for 2 hours-until they open up to the size you want. You can sprinkle cinnamon on them before baking for an added surprise-smells so good!

Another crafty neighbor made this campfire set for the birthday boy. Logs, fire, s'mores and marshmallow on a stick were all made out of felt! So creative!!

The birthday boy had a fun day at his party! Isn't he the cutest? We have enjoyed being apart of his life and love sharing it with his family.

Thank you Tari for allowing me to photograph the party and share it on my blog.
